Alpha H – Australian Skincare

A couple of Christmases ago I bought a gorgeous Marks & Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar. This tree shaped box of delights contained all manner of beauty treats, including a little bottle of Alpha H Liquid Gold. This was a brand and a product I was unfamiliar with and I have to confess that it got chucked in drawer and forgotten about. Oh, silly me. If I’d known then what I know now I’d have ordered a tanker of the stuff and been bathing in it.

I came across it again a couple of months ago when I was having a clear out and decided to give it a go. We have recently had some very nice weather, for England and after years of sun abuse I now have areas of hyper-pigmentation, which leave my face and neck looking like I need a good wash. I had recently read some good things about Alpha H Liquid Gold, not least that it is an award-winning treatment, that can effectively diminish pigmentation and sun damage. I thought I’d give it a whirl.

Now at this point I should say that I am normally quite cynical about the claims of beauty products and won’t often recommend them to others. However, this stuff is really good. No, I don’t look 20 years younger and wrinkle free. I haven’t suddenly gained the soft, dewy skin of a Hollywood A lister. What I have found is a product that does what it says it will and I quote:

• Clarifies and brightens the complexion – Tick. My skin does look smoother and brightened. Like I’ve had a trip to the salon for a facial.

• Reduces the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles – Tick to the pigmentation and sun damage bits. As for the fine lines and wrinkles I haven’t noticed because I haven’t really focused on that. To me they are a natural part of aging and personally I believe women get far too hung up on them. As we age our skin wrinkles, end of. Unless you have a shed load of money to go under the knife and then look like you’ve been stood in a wind tunnel, get over it. Learn to love your wrinkles and lines.

• Works as a toner, exfoliator, serum, and moisturiser. Tick. It certainly seems to.

• Increases moisture within the skin. Tick. My face does feel hydrated.

I have been so pleased with the results of using the Liquid Gold that I have bought the Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex. A serum that promotes such benefits as reducing dark shadows, puffiness, hooded lids and fine lines. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks and my dark shadows and puffiness have certainly lessened. Not sure about the hooding bit but it may be too early to tell yet. I’ll get back to you in a few weeks.

Developed over 20 years ago in Oz, where they know a thing or two about sun damage, the Alpha H range is now stocked in over 25 countries from salons and spas to department stores and online shops. It is now a go-to corrective and preventative skincare range. Liquid Gold is their best-selling treatment with two bottles being sold every minute. It utilizes the exfoliating effects of 5% glycolic acid, the antioxidant effects of licorice extract and the moisturizing and repairing properties of silk proteins.

In the UK you can by Alpha H products from Marks & Spencer, allbeauty, Cult Beauty and Look Fantastic amongst others.
